WEEE Recycling FAQs

What Is WEEE Recycling?

WEEE recycling is the process of collecting, dismantling, and processing electronic and electrical devices after they reach the end of their usable life. The goal is to recover valuable materials and reduce the environmental impact by handling components—especially hazardous ones—safely.

Which Electronics Can Be Recycled Under WEEE?

A wide range of electronic and electrical items qualify for WEEE recycling, including (but not limited to):

  • Computers, laptops, and mobile phones

  • Televisions and monitors

  • Kitchen appliances like refrigerators, ovens, and washing machines

  • Office equipment such as printers and scanners

  • Various small household gadgets

What Happens to Electronics After I Drop Them Off?

Once collected, electronics are sent to specialized facilities where they are sorted, dismantled, and processed. Reusable materials—like metals and plastics—are separated for recycling, while hazardous elements (e.g., batteries, certain chemicals) receive special treatment and disposal to prevent environmental damage.

Are There Restrictions on the Condition of Items I Can Recycle?

All electrical and electronic equipment, whether working or not, can be recycled through approved collection points or local authorities.
If you’re receiving a delivery of a new appliance from us, we’ll take away a similar old appliance for recycling at no extra cost—just be sure it’s disconnected, clean, and fully defrosted (if it’s a cooling product) before the driver arrives.
