Better known as the Peace Lily, these tender plants are famed for their ability to remove pollutants from the air. Spathiphyllum forms a dense clump of large, upright, glossy, evergreen leaves with gently drooping tips that make this a handsome house plant all year round. In spring and early summer, the elegant white spathes are produced, rising on slender stems above the foliage. Its white flowers make the Spathiphyllum much more unique and different from other green house plants. A Spathiphyllum can flower several times a year if it is well cared for. The flowering period lasts up to 10 weeks each time, which makes it an exceptionally long bloomer!
Care
The Spathiphyllum requires more water than other houseplants. Therefore, it is recommended to water the plant twice a week in summer, and once a week in winter. A lack of water can be recognized when the leaves of the Spathiphyllum start to droop. Also, do not put the plant in full sun: it prefers a more sheltered spot. Another important aspect is to remove the spent flowers once they have bloomed, so that the plant puts its energy into creating new leaves and flowers.
Size
The plant has a height as chosen above upon delivery, measured including the nursery pot. The plant is supplied in a nursery pot.
